Privacy Policy

LOOP is a keyboard, so you have every right to ask what it can see. This page explains what happens to your text in plain language.

Last updated 12 August 2026

Draft for legal review. This document was written from how the product works today and is a starting point, not finished legal advice. Please have it reviewed by a lawyer, and replace every item marked TO CONFIRM before launch. Delete this box once it is signed off.

The short version

  • Typing on the LOOP keyboard is just typing. Nothing is sent anywhere.
  • Text leaves your device only when you tap an AI action such as Translate, Rewrite or Grammar fix.
  • We do not sell your messages to advertisers or data brokers.
  • We do not upload your contacts or your photo library.

Who we are

LOOP is provided by TO CONFIRM: registered company name, registered at TO CONFIRM: company address. If you have a question about this policy you can reach us at privacy@loop.app.

How the keyboard works

LOOP is an iOS keyboard extension. It replaces the keyboard you type with, and adds AI actions on top of it. It runs inside the rules Apple defines for third party keyboards, which includes the "Allow Full Access" permission you grant or deny yourself in the iOS Settings app.

That permission is what allows an AI action to reach our servers. Without it the keyboard can still type, but the AI actions cannot run. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Settings, General, Keyboard, Keyboards.

What we process, and when

When you tap an AI action

To translate, rewrite, correct, shorten, expand, summarize or reply to a message, the relevant text has to be processed by an AI model. That means the text you selected, plus the action you chose and the languages or tone you picked, is sent to our servers and on to our AI processing provider, then the result is returned to your keyboard.

Retention: TO CONFIRM: how long request text is kept, if at all, and whether it is used for debugging.

When you are just typing

Ordinary typing, including passwords and anything in a secure text field, is not sent to us.

Your settings

Your chosen languages, default tone and any custom prompts you save are stored so the keyboard behaves the way you set it up. TO CONFIRM: whether these stay on the device or sync to an account.

Diagnostics

TO CONFIRM: whether the app collects crash reports or usage analytics, and through which provider. Whatever is listed here must match the privacy label on the App Store listing.

Who else is involved

Delivering the AI actions means working with other companies. Ours are:

  • AI processing: TO CONFIRM: the AI provider or providers, and the country their processing happens in
  • Hosting: TO CONFIRM: hosting provider and region
  • Payments: Apple. Subscriptions are bought and billed through your Apple ID, so we never see your card details.

What we do not do

We do not sell your message content. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not build advertising profiles from what you write.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, email privacy@loop.app and we will respond within TO CONFIRM: response window.

TO CONFIRM: which regimes apply, for example UK GDPR, EU GDPR or CCPA, plus the legal basis for processing and the supervisory authority people can complain to.

Children

LOOP is not intended for children under TO CONFIRM: minimum age, which should match the App Store age rating.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
